Our Theater Arts Center was built by Quinnipiac University in 2017. It hosts the theater, music, and other various arts programs. Fourth Wall uses this building for rehearsals, shows and events. This facility features a black box theater, a costume shop, a design studio, a scene shop, a lighting and management booth, and academic spaces.
We are a very close-knit community who welcomes and encourages other students to get involved in our productions and events. Through many hours of rehearsals and rewarding performances, students create lasting friendships while having the time of their lives.
We pride ourselves on producing shows and sharing our work with the student body and community. All shows produced by Fourth Wall are completely student-run. Students act, direct, stage manage, light design, set design, sound design, and advertise/promote all of our shows.
The Executive Board is a group of Fourth Wall members elected by the Fourth Wall community to organize events, uphold the ideals of the organization, and make Fourth Wall an inclusive, enjoyable group for all of its members. The duties of the different executive board members are outlined thoroughly in our constitution, available on DoYouQU.
Alice is a theater major with double minors in music and fine arts on the studio art track.
Her favorite memory is playing four different characters in Little Women.
"It was so funny hearing people's reactions to me coming on stage as a different person every time I made an entrance".
Her goal for this semester is to implement G-Board meetings for the theater community! She is looking forward to getting to know the new members of our family!
Sarah is a senior Biology major with a chemistry minor with pre-med designation.
"My favorite 4th Wall memory is creating our little family here on campus. I am so grateful for all the individuals I have met that have not only shaped me into a better performer but a better individual overall. My Quinnipiac experience would not be the same without every single one of you. I can't wait for this upcoming academic year to continue expanding our family and finding a place on campus for those who are looking for a home".
Sarah is looking into the addition of new merchandise and would like to utilize the Redouble account more and make products such as tracksuit warm-ups to wear before shows. Sarah would also like to work on the Fourth Wall website and continue having a star member of the month to highlight the individual successes of our members. Sarah wants to have open communication to plan events and implement any changes the general public seeks fit.
Lauren is a film, television, and media arts major with a theater minor.
"My favorite memory was working as stage manager for Little Women. Working with the production team on that show was life-changing for me and I can't thank everyone involved enough".
Lauren wants to help to implement a G-Board in collaboration with the rest of E-Board in order to have more input from the general theater community.
Theresa is a junior Theater major here at Quinnpiac. She has been a valued member of the theater community for several years. Her talents include acting, singing, opera, improv, and prop coordination! We are so thrilled to have her as our new treasurer as of Spring 2023 and we welcome her to the executive board!
Chris is an English and Theater double major with a Media Studies minor and this is her second year acting in this role for Fourth Wall.
Her favorite 4th Wall memory is acting in our most recent production of Little Women.
"As publicity coordinator and an actress last year, it was a great learning experience to see both sides of a show, both cast and crew".
"My biggest goal for this upcoming year is to sell out more shows like we did for Little Women! I also want to add more opportunities for fundraising in addition to the initiatives we already have. I'm so excited to welcome new members to the 4th Wall family"!
Comic Sans is Quinnipiac's improv troupe. Consisting of 11 members, Comic Sans puts on improv shows periodically throughout the year.
Comic Sans holds auditions at the beginning of every school year, looking for new members.
Their shows are completely free of charge, so no risk but high reward! See calendar for show dates.
If you're interested in improv comedy, but are too nervous to audition, then professor Kevin Daly offers an improv class!
Main stage theater is the faculty run theater program at Quinnipiac. Headed by professor Kevin Daly, the theater program has several faculty members that help with our two shows that mainstage puts on every semester. Rosalie Bochansky, our resident Technical Director, and Abigail Copeland, our very own Artistic Director.
To get involved in Mainstage, you can email Kevin Daly at Kevin.Daly@quinnipaic.edu, or check out the mainstage website at https://theater.qu.edu/
